DATAW ISLAND, S.C. – First-Year Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) placed second overall to lead the W&L women's golf team at the Taylor Made Adidas Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at the Cotton Dike Course in Dataw Island, S.C.
Savannah State won the team title at the event with a two-round score of 386-376—762, while Faulkner University's Emma Sears was the individual medalist with an 87-87—174.
Wright paced the three W&L golfers competing as individuals with her second-place finish out of 26 competitors, carding an 89-86—175. First-year Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) posted a 101-100—201 to tie for 16th, while first-year Lydia Barit (Paget, Bermuda / Middlesex School) was 19th with a 107-98—205.
Washington and Lee returns to action on March 23-24 when it takes part in the Randolph-Macon Invitational held at The Hollows Golf Club in Montpelier, Va.
