WINCHESTER, Va. – The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced its 2017-18 College Division All-State Women's Basketball Teams on Monday afternoon, and senior guard Emily Perszyk (Greendale, Wis. / Greendale) earned Second Team All-State accolades.
Perszyk started 24 games for the Generals and averaged a team-best 16.0 points per game, while shooting 82.7 percent (105-127) from the foul line, which ranked third in the conference. The two-time First Team All-ODAC honoree also scored 20 or more points in 11 games, including two 28-point performances.
For her career, Perszyk finished fifth in program history with 1,340 points, while her 195 career three-pointers made are second in the history of the program. Perszyk shot a program-best 83.5 percent (259-310) from the foul line and claims the record for free throws made (17) and attempted (19) in a game.
This is the second time Perszyk has earned Second Team All-State accolades in her career. She is the first W&L player to earn back-to-back honors since Jessica Hunsinger '07 claimed all-state honors three straight times, most recently following the 2006-07 season.
Earlier this year, Perszyk was also named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete and earned CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America honors.
The Generals completed the 2017-18 season 17-10 overall and 9-7 in ODAC play, falling in the ODAC semifinals to Emory & Henry, 64-60.
