W&L Claims the 2015 ODAC Overall Sports Champion Cup
For the 13th-consecutive year, Washington and Lee University has claimed the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup, as announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on Wednesday. The Generals also claimed Women’s Commissioner’s Cup on their way to the overall title for the 2014-15 school year.

The Washington and Lee Department of Athletics held its annual athletics award ceremony at Lee Chapel on Tuesday evening. The event, made possible by the generosity of the Brookby Family, honors student-athletes and administrators who have made the 2014-15 school year a tremendous success.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 216 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

Senior forward Shannon Allan hit a layup with 10 seconds remaining to lift third-seeded Lynchburg to a 55-53 win over sixth-seeded Washington and Lee in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Women’s Basketball Tournament on Friday evening at the Salem Civic Center.

Sophomore guard Jackie Clifford (Tenafly, N.J. / Tenafly) hit a triple as time expired to send the Washington and Lee women’s basketball team into overtime against Roanoke Tuesday evening at the Warner Center. The Generals (14-3, 7-2) went onto defeat the Maroons (6-11, 3-6), 76-69.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Fall Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that a record 224 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed fall term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. The total contains 34 more athletes than any previous fall term and is 14 more than in any previous winter term.
