FOREST, Va. – Washington and Lee sophomore forward Shelbi Hendricks (Louisville, Ky. / Kentucky Country Day) was tabbed as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending on December 8.
Hendricks tossed in a career-high 29 points in 38 minutes of action to lead the Generals to a 67-63 victory over Roanoke in their ODAC opener. Hendricks was 11-of-18 from the field, including 7-of-8 from the charity stripe, to lead the Generals' offense. The forward also chipped in three assists and a career-high six steals on the evening. She is currently ranked third in the ODAC in steals per game (2.4).
Hendricks' previous career-high in points was 18, when she went 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line in the 55-54 win over Randolph on January 15, 2013. Her three steals against Emory & Henry in the 2013 ODAC Tournament was her previous career-high in steals.
W&L returns to the court on Wednesday, when it hosts Guilford for a conference matchup at 7:00 pm.
