W&L's Bolton Earns ODAC Player of the Week Honors

SALEM, Va. – Washington and Lee sophomore forward Becca
Bolton (Pittsboro, N.C./Chatham Central) garnered the Old Dominion
Athletic Conference Player of the Week Award for women’s
basketball for the week ending January 17.
In a 2-1 week, Bolton averaged 15.7 points, 15.0 rebounds, 3.7
assists and 2.0 steals per game. She shot 50.0 percent
(19-38) from the floor and 81.8 percent (9-11) from the free throw
line. In all three contests she recorded a double-double, and
now has six on the season.
In a 66-46 win over Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday, Bolton notched 12
points and a game-high 12 rebounds, going 5-for-12 (.417) from the
field and 2-for-3 (.667) from the charity stripe. She also added
two assists and two steals in the contest.
Bolton recorded 15 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in a 57-54
loss to Roanoke on Friday, finishing the night shooting 50 percent
(6-12) from the field and 75 percent (3-4) from the line. She also
recorded a career-high two blocks on the evening.
En route to defeating Bridgewater (67-58) on Saturday, Bolton
totaled game-highs of 20 points and 18 rebounds, with 8-of-14
(.571) shooting from the field, while going perfect at the line
(4-4). She also added a season-high three steals and five
assists.
For the season, Bolton leads the team in scoring (15.4 ppg) and
rebounding (10.8 rpg) and is shooting 50.4 percent (69-137) from
the field.
The Generals return to action on Tuesday as they host Hollins for a
7:00 pm contest.
