Morse Finishes Third at IHSA Zones

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Washington and Lee junior Tamara Morse (Bristow, Va./Brentsville) finished third in the open flat competiton at the IHSA Zone 4 Championships held at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center on Sunday afternoon.

Bridgewater took home the team championship, while Eagle riders Shelby Goodwin (open fences), Chelsea Hames (intermediate fences) and Lauren Casey (novice flat) all won their events to qualify for IHSA Nationals.  Other winners included Olivia Smith from Sweet Briar (intermediate flat), Sarah Jarosinski of Hollins (novice fences) and Drew Nichols of Lynchburg (walk-trot).

Morse had already qualified for the IHSA National Championships by claiming the Cacchione Cup as the region's top rider.  The championships will be held on May 5-8 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.
