W&L Riding Finishes Sixth at Bridgewater Invitational

WEYERS CAVE, Va. – The Washington and Lee riding team finished in a tie for sixth place at the Bridgewater College Invitational on Friday.

Hollins University captured the invite, finishing with 41 points. HU was followed by Lynchburg (40), Bridgewater (38), Sweet Briar (28), James Madison (23) and W&L and Randolph (19). Rounding out the scoring was the University of Virginia (18), Longwood (13), Roanoke (15) and Radford (7).

Top finisher for the Generals was sophomore Molly Rountree (Andover, Mass./Phillips Academy), who took second in the intermediate equitation over fences. W&L also collected a pair of third-place finishes, with sophomores Ramsay Kubal (Atherton, Calif./Crystal Springs Uplands) in the open equitation over fences and Stephanie Malaska (Redmond, Wash./Eastside Catholic) in the intermediate equitation on the flat.
