W&L Riding Places Second at Hollins Invitational

HOLLINS, Va. -- The Washington and Lee riding team placed second out of 12 teams competing at the Hollins Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Generals were led by sophomore Tamara Morse (Bristow, Va./Brentsville), who finished first in the open flat and tied for third in the open fences.  First-year Molly Rountree (Andover, Mass./Phillips Academy) received a blue ribbon in the intermediate fences, while first-year Evelyn Norton (Elon, N.C./Caldwell Academy) clinched second place for W&L as a team with a top finish in the walk-trot.

Morse and junior Allison Lemon (Roanoke, Va./North Cross) both remained in the Top 6 for the Cacchione Cup for the region's top rider.  Morse is ranked second, while Lemon is sixth.
