W&L Men's Cross Country Takes Fourth at ODAC Preview

BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Washington and Lee men's cross country team sent a group of underclassmen to the ODAC Preview hosted by Bridgewater on Friday evening, and finished fourth out of seven teams.

Lynchburg won the event with 37 points, Eastern Mennonite (59 points) was second, Roanoke (64 points) claimed third and the Generals had 73 points.

First-year Cooper Baird (Fort Worth, Texas/Fort Worth Country Day) finished seventh overall in 27:17.80, while first-year Calvin Riss (Longmont, Colo./Peak to Peak Charter School) took 11th with a time of 27:24.10. Senior Harrison Toney of Roanoke won the event in 26:33.20.

First-year Alex Dolwick (Apex, N.C./GRACE Christian School) was 13th in 27:35.0, first-year Hank Patrick (Baton Rouge, La./University Laboratory School) claimed 14th (27:42.90) and first-year Joe Carmody (Clive, Iowa/Dowling Catholic) crossed the finish line 29th with a time of 29:07.80.

The other half of the W&L roster will compete at the James Madison Invitational on Saturday at 10:00 am.
