W&L Men's Cross Country Places Seventh at Don Cathcart

SALISBURY, Md. — The Washington and Lee men's cross country team took seventh (204 points) out of 14 teams at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury on Saturday. Wilmington finished first with 34 points, Franklin & Marshall claimed second at 71 points and Salisbury took third with 72 points.

Junior Kane Thomas (Seattle, Wash./Shorewood) was the top finisher for the Generals in 23rd at 26:48.00. Sophomore Scott Sugden (Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial) placed 52nd with a time of 27:48.00.

In third for W&L was sophomore James Busch (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) in 56th in 28:01.00. First-year Levi Warring (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) came in 60th with a time of 28:01.00, and first-year Jake Mack (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./La Jolla Country Day) rounded out the scoring in 61st at 28:07.00.

The Generals next compete at the DeSales Invitational on October 13.
