W&L Men's Cross Country Takes Sixth Place at ODAC's

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Washington and men's cross country team recorded a sixth-place finish at the ODAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Randolph College on Saturday afternoon.

Lynchburg College won the men's race with a team score with a total of 34 points, while Washington and Lee totaled 125 points.
Junior Matt Gossett (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan) was the Generals' top finisher as he took 15th place with a time of 27:30.
Junior Robert Warneford-Thomson (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) took 20th place with a time of 27:59 and for the second-consecutive year was named the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Senior Rob George (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) took 28th overall (28:15), junior Ryan Henner (Avondale Estates, Ga./Chamblee) came in 31st (28:24) and senior Jack Ivy (Memphis, Tenn./White Station) recorded a 32nd-place finish (28:42) to round out the Generals' scoring runners.
The Generals return to action on Saturday, November 13 at 12:00 pm when they take part in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional meet at Rhodes College.
