CARLISLE, Pa. – The Washington and Lee men's cross country team took part in the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals did not record a team score in the two-race meet as W&L elected not to have anybody run in the shorter of the two races and placed all of its competitors in the long race.
Junior Matt Gossett (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan) was W&L's top finisher, recording 63rd place finish in the 8k with a time of 28:15. Sophomore Tyler Gehrs (Alexandria, Va./St. Andrews) placed 87thoverall with a time of 28:50.
Other finishes for the Generals included junior Robert Warneford-Thomson (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) with a time of 29:21, senior Jack Ivy (Memphis, Tenn./White Station) in 29:28 and junior Ryan Henner (Avondale Estates, Ga./Chamblee) with a time of 29:30.
The Generals return to action on October 1, when they take part in the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, North Carolina.
