Men's Cross Country in Action at George Mason

CENTREVILLE, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men’s cross
country team, competing against mostly Division I opponents, took
eighth place out of 10 schools in the George Mason Invitational at
Bull Run Regional Park on Saturday morning.
The Generals were one of only two Div. III schools in the meet
that was won by the University of Virginia and featured schools
such as George Mason, Columbia and UNC-Wilmington.
First-year Harrison Tucker (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher’s)
continued his strong season as he was the top W&L finisher with
a mark of 27:46 that was good for 60th place.
Sophomore Ryan Henner (Avondale Estates, Ga./Chamblee) led a trio
of consecutive finishers for the Generals as he recorded a time of
27:59 to finish 67th. Classmate Robert Warneford-Thomson (Richmond,
Va./Trinity Episcopal) took 68th overall with a time of 28:01 and
junior Rob George (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) recorded a
time of 28:03 which was good for 69th overall.
Senior Ben Stutts (Beverly Hills, Calif./Beverly Hills) was the
fifth W&L finisher with a time of 28:32 as he finished in 78th
place.
The Generals return to the course on Oct. 17, when they take part
in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble.
