SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Washington and Lee men's track and field senior MacKenzye Leroy (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) finished 12th in the 5,000m to lead a handful of W&L runners at the SWAT Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore on Monday.
Leroy crossed the finish line in 14:45.25, and was the ninth-best Division III runner in the event. Junior Hank Patrick (Baton Rouge, La./University Laboratory School) placed 42nd overall with a career-best time of 15:14.91, and sophomore Austin Kinne (Bolingbrook, Ill./Neuqua Valley) was 48th with a new personal best (15:20.21).
Junior Alex Dolwick (Apex, N.C./GRACE Christian School) claimed 62nd (15:32.51), and first-year Daniel Cope (Dallas, Texas/St. Mark's School) took 66th in a career-best time of 15:35.88. Unattached runner Mark Leininger won the race with a time of 14:23.23.
The Generals return to action on Thursday at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet at Ohio Wesleyan.
