SALEM, Va. — Senior MacKenzye Leroy (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) broke the 3,000m school record to lead the Washington and Lee men's track and field team at the Roanoke Bast-Cregger Invitational on Saturday.
Highlights From the Meet
- Leroy set the new W&L record and a new facility mark by winning the event with a time of 8:34.10. It broke the previous record of 8:37.24 set by Nathan Johnson '06 in 2005.
- Junior Cooper Baird (Fort Worth, Texas/Fort Worth Country Day) was two spots behind Leroy in the race, taking third in 8:47.90.
- Junior Drew Pranka (Princeton, Ill/Princeton) finished fourth in the 60m hurdles in 8.67.
- Sophomore Donovan Fiore (Gilbert, Ariz./Chandler Prep Academy) was fifth in the 400m (50.82) and first-year Ellis Robinson (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.54m (21'5.50").
