W&L's 4x100m Relay Finishes Ninth at NCAA Championship
DELAWARE, Ohio, — On day one of the NCAA Division III Men's Track and Field Outdoor Championship hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday, the Washington and Lee 4x100m relay set a new school record and finished ninth overall.
Running in the first of two heats, the quartet of senior Agustin Kim (La Habra, Calif./Troy), junior Aaron Jeong (Federal Way, Wash./Thomas Jefferson), and seniors Cole Glasgow (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) and Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook-Kingswood) crossed the finish line in 41.24.
The time was the ninth-best out of 16 teams, but was one spot from qualifying for Saturday's final. Mount Union was the last team to advance to the finals with a time of 41.12.
The Generals' time of 41.24 broke the school record the foursome set three weeks earlier at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on May 8. The previous mark was 41.47.
W&L has two athletes competing on day two of the championship. Tallman will compete in the 400m prelims at 7:15 pm, and Jeong will run in the 100m prelims at 7:45 pm.
