NEW ORLEANS — The Washington and Lee men's track and field team moved up 66 spots to 18th in the most recent Division III National Team Computer Rankings released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday.
The Generals totaled 61.75 points to move into the Top 25 for the first time in program history. W&L had the biggest position jump in Division III this week and is also the top-ranked ODAC team.
In the individual rankings, senior Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook-Kingswood) is tied for first in the 400m at 47.66 and is 13th in the 800m with a time of 1:52.68. Senior Kevin Sullivan is first in the javelin with a mark of 63.76m (209'02.00").
The 4x100m relay, which consists of seniors Agustin Kim (La Habra, Calif./Troy) and Cole Glasgow (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep), junior Aaron Jeong (Federal Way, Wash./Thomas Jefferson) and Tallman, is ranked eighth in 41.61. The 4x400m is currently 14th with a time of 3:19.02. Sophomore Charlie Zachariades (Chatham, N.J./Chatham), first-years Isidro Camacho (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavier) and Jack Jones (Lookout Mountain, Ga./McCallie School) and Tallman comprise the quartet for the Blue and White.
The Generals next compete at the Liberty Twilight on Wednesday, April 30 starting at 1:00 pm.
