Myers Earns All-Academic Honor From USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the Division III Men's Scholar Athletes of the Year and the All-Academic honorees recently, and Washington and Lee rising senior Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) garnered All-Academic laurels. The Generals were also named a USTFCCCA 2013 All-Academic Team.

Myers was one of 232 student-athletes to achieve All-Academic status. He registered six Top 5 finishes at the ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, highlighted with an ODAC Championship in 4x400m relay. Myers also finished the year with the 33rd-highest point total in the decathlon in Division III this season (6,093 points).

As a team, W&L posted a 3.15 overall team GPA. The Generals finished fifth at the ODAC Indoor Track and Field Championship and took third at the ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: a student-athlete must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national Top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national Top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by

To be recognized as an All-Academic Team, a squad must accumulate a team GPA of at least 3.10.

Chris Stadler of Haverford was named the Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year, Zach Ferrara of Brockport was the Indoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year, Michael LeDuc of Connecticut College was the Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year and Tom Postema of Defiance was the Outdoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year.
