FOREST, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced junior Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook-Kingswood) was named the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 14.
Tallman placed fifth at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational on Saturday in the 400m, which consisted of Division I, II and II athletes. Tallman crossed the finish line in 47.93, which is tied for the fourth-fastest time in Division III this year.
He was also part of the 4x400m relay that took third in 3:20.05. The quartet consisted of Tallman, juniors Parker Howard (Naperville, Ill./Nequea Valley) and Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) and first-year Thomas Dunbar (Jackson, Miss./Jackson Prep). It is the fastest time in the ODAC this season by over four seconds.
The Generals host the ODAC Championship this Friday and Saturday at Wilson Field.
