BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Washington and Lee men's track & field team took part in the Hopkins Loyola Invitational on Saturday afternoon host by Johns Hopkins University.
Sophomore Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) had a hand in two event wins for the Generals on the day. He captured the 200m in a time of 21.91 and anchored the winning 4x400m relay, which posted a time of 3:20.86. He was joined on the relay by sophomores Mac Keers (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) and junior Steven Colliau (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena).
Myers added a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.78 and Tallman also took third in the 100m in 11.25.
Junior Dylan Mills (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul's) earned a second-place finish in the javelin with a mark of 55.89 meters and first-year Eddie Barnes (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) placed fifth with a distance of 48.87.
Sophomore Jonathan Sells (Brandon, Fla./C. Leon King) placed fourth in the long jump, posting a distance of 6.02 meters and junior Jesse Jenkins (Roanoke, Va./William Fleming) was seventh in the discus with a heave of 40.53 meters.
The Generals return to action on Friday when they take part in the ODAC Championships hosted by Lynchburg College. Day one is slated to begin at 3:00 pm.
