INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The field for the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships were announced on Monday afternoon and Washington and Lee sophomore Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) will be among the competitors.
Tallman will become the first W&L male to take part in the indoor championships since 1990 (Carl Gilbert, triple jump). He enters the championships as the ninth-seeded runner of out a field of 13 in the 400 meters with a time of 49.06. Junior Aric Hoeshcen of Wisconsin-La Crosse is the top seed with a time of 48.01.
The invite to the NCAA Championships caps an already stellar indoor season for Tallman, who repeated as the ODAC champion in both the 200 meters and 400 meters. He once again earned ODAC Athlete of the Meet honors as the W&L men took second place at the ODAC Championships on Feb. 25.
The NCAA Championship meet takes place March 9-10 at Grinnell College.
