LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Sophomore Zander Tallman's (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) two school records highlighted the Washington and Lee men's track & field team's performance at the Bucknell Winter Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Tallman set new school standard in the 400m, recording a time of 49.06 in finishing first overall. Tallman's time also ranks him in the Top 10 in the NCAA for Division III. He added to his big day with a third-place finish (1st Div. III) in the 200m with a school-record time of 22.31.
Senior Matt Gossett (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan) finished in fourth place in the mile with a time of 4:25.67 and sophomore Kane Thomas (Seattle, Wash./Shorewood) recorded a time of 1:59.09 in the 800m to vault into the Top 5 in the ODAC this season.
Junior Steven Colliau (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) finished sixth overall in the 400m with a time of 51.63 and first-year Aaron Jeong (Federal Way, Wash./Thomas Jefferson) was the third-best Div. III competitor in the 200m with a time of 23.34.
The Generals will now take a week off before beginning competition in the ODAC Championships on Feb. 24 beginning at 1:00 pm.
