NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Washington and Lee sophomore Dylan Mills (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul's) has been selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Track & Field National Championships, as the championship field was unveiled over the weekend.
Mills, the reigning two-time ODAC Champion, earned a spot in the javelin throw and will enter the meet as the 15th overall seed with a mark of 61.04 meters. Lars Tenglin of North Park is the event's top seed with a distance of 67.46 meters.
With his selection to the National Championship field, Mills will be the first W&L male to compete since Jason Callen took part in the 5,000m in 1997.
The National Championships are slated to run from Thursday through Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and the javelin is slated to take place on Saturday afternoon.
