LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's track & field team recorded 10 Top 10 finishes among Division III athletes while taking part in the Liberty Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
First-year Dylan Myers (Foxborough Mass./Foxborough) recorded the Generals' top finish on the day as he took first among Div. III athletes in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.83.
First-year Jonathan Sells (Brandon, Fla./C. Leon King) turned in a solid meet, as he took second in the long jump with a distance of 6.17 meters. He also took 10th in the 100m with a time of 11.83.
The 4x400m relay team of Myers first-years Kane Thomas (Seattle, Was./Shorewood) and Mac Keers (Wilton, Conn./Wilton), and junior Tyler Grant (Suwanee, Ga./South Forsyth) took second place with a time of 3:27.20.
Keers also finished in seventh-place in the 400m (52.78), Grant took third in the 110m hurdles (16.15) and Myers was 10th in the 110m hurdles in 17.57.
Thomas also took second place in the 800m (1:58.21) and sophomore Wayde Marsh (Milford, Del./Salesianum) was fifth with a time of 2:00.69.
Sophomore A.J. Dowers (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) took seventh in the discus with a mark of 34.19 meters and first-year Kevin Sullivan (Sandwich, Mass./Tabor) was sixth in the javelin with distance of 53.03 meters.
W&L returns to action on April 16, when it takes part in the Moravian Invitational.
