FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its Players of the Week for the week ending on February 13, and Washington and Lee had two honorees.
The men's track 4x400 relay collected the men's indoor track and field honor, while junior forward Becca Bolton (Pittsboro, N.C./Chatham Central) was the recipient for women's basketball, her second honor of the season.
Senior Tyler Grant (Suwanee, Ga./South Forsyth), sophomore Steven Colliau (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) and first-years Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook-Kingswood) and Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) teamed together to run a time of 3:21.81 in the 4x400m relay, taking the top spot at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games at the New York Armory. The time established a new school record, and is currently the 12th-fastest time in Division III.
Bolton paced the Generals in a 2-0 week with wins over Randolph-Macon and Guilford. She led the team in scoring for both contests, registering 20+ points in both games. Against R-MC, Bolton scored 26 points while going a perfect 12-of-12 from the line and 7-of-10 from the field. She also added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Against Guilford, she finished with 21 points and collected a team-high 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
This season, Bolton has appeared in 16 contests for the Generals with seven starts, and is averaging 14.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Currently, she is just 35 points short of her 1,000th career point, registering 965 markers over her three-year career.
The track and field team returns to action on Saturday at the Dickinson Invitational, while women's basketball next takes to the court at Emory & Henry on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
