LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's track & field team wrapped up the two-day Liberty Open & Multi's on Saturday afternoon and the Generals recorded seven Top 5 finishes and broke a pair of school records.
First-year Cole Glasgow (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) set a new school mark in the 60m dash with a time of 7.19 seconds. He finished second among Division III athletes.
Junior Matt Gossett (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan) also recorded a second-place finish among Div. III athletes, finishing the mile in 4:32.75 and first-year Mac Keers (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) took second in the 500m with a mark of 1:09.34.
W&L's other school record came in the 4x400m relay as senior Tyler Grant (Suwanee, Ga./South Forsyth), sophomore Steven Colliau (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena), and first-years Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) and Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook-Kingswood) posted a time of 3:25.93.
Tallman also notched a first-place finish in the 200m (23.38), Myers took third in the 400m (52.35) and first-year Jonathan Sells (Brandon, Fla./C. Leon King) took third in the long jump with a distance of 6.14 meters.
The Generals return to action on Saturday when they take part in the VMI Relays beginning at 9:00 am.
