FOREST, Va. -- Washington and Lee's men's indoor track & field team was picked to finish in third place in the ODAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Coaches Poll released on Thursday.
Lynchburg College was a unanimous first-place choice, claiming all seven first-place votes en route to 49 total points. Bridgewater was second in the poll with 38 points and was followed by W&L (32), Virginia Wesleyan (26), Roanoke (24), Guilford (20) and Eastern Mennonite (7).
In addition to a large first-year class, the Generals will look to lean on the continued improvement of juniors Tyler Grant (Suwanee, Ga./South Forsyth) and Matt Gossett (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan).
Grant finished sixth in the 400-meter dash (52.84) and eighth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.32) at last season's conference meet and Gossett earned a ninth-place showing in the 800-meter run (2:05.62).
W&L's season continues on Saturday when it hosts Roanoke in a dual meet at VMI. The meet is slated to begin at 11:00 am.
