INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced on Wednesday the individuals who will compete in the singles and doubles competition at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships.
Washington and Lee sophomore Harry Shepherd (Ridgewood, N.J. / St. George's School) was selected to the 32-player field for the singles championship, which will be held on May 24-26 at The Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, Calif.
Shepherd is the second straight W&L player selected to the singles field, joining Jordan Krasner '17, who competed in the 2017 NCAA Singles Championship.
Shepherd is the fifth-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South Region and was recently named the ODAC Player of the Year. He carries a 13-3 singles record into the NCAA Team Championship, which begins on Friday when the Generals take on Thomas More at 1:00 pm in Atlanta, Ga.
W&L won the ODAC title with a 12-6 overall record and received the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Team Championship with a 5-1 win over Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC title match.
