CLAREMONT, Calif. – Washington and Lee sophomore Harry Shepherd (Ridgewood, N.J. / St. George's School) opened play on Thursday in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Shepherd dropped his match in the opening round to Mohanad Al Houni of Gustavus Adolphus by a score of 6-4, 6-0. Al Houni advances to the round of 16 where he will meet Alexis Dimanche of Southwestern (Texas).
With the loss, Shepherd finishes his sophomore campaign with a 14-4 singles record and a 13-6 doubles record. He was named the 2018 ODAC Player of the Year.
W&L has now completed its 2017-18 men's tennis season.
