W&L Men's Tennis Falls to Elon, 7-0
DURHAM, N.C. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 7-0 loss to Division I Elon on Saturday afternoon at Duke University.
The Generals lone win on the day came at No. 2 doubles, where the tandem of first-year Michael Holt (Henrico, Va. / Mills Godwin) and sophomore Taylor Shamshiri (Austin, Texas / ATA College Prep) knocked off the team of Brian Kowalski and Christopher Geaslen by a score of 8-6.
With the win, Elon improved to 2-3 overall, while the Generals fell to 0-1.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Monday when it travels to Oglethorpe for a 3:00 pm match.
