W&L Men's Tennis Defeated by No. 15 Redlands, 6-3
REDLANDS, Calif. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decison to 15th-ranked University of Redlands on Wednesday afternoon.
First-year Taylor Shamshiri (Austin, Texas/ATA College Prep) and senior Jeremy Becht (Woodstock, Ga./Etowah) were the lone singles winners for the Generals, claiming victory at Nos. 3-4. Becht teamed with first-year Christopher Hu (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) for an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
With the loss, the Generals fell to 2-2, while Redlands improved to 4-1 with the win.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday as it remains in California for a 4:00 pm PST match at fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
