W&L's White Wins ITA Small College Championship Opener

MOBILE, Ala. – Washington and Lee first-year Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson) has advanced to the semifinals of the men’s Division III singles bracket at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Small College Championships held at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.

In the quarterfinals of the Division III singles draw on Thursday morning, White knocked off Mike Mattelson of Vassar College, 6-0, 6-2.

Top-seeded John Watts of Washington University awaits White in the semifinals.  He defeated Dillon Pottish of Emory University, 7-5, 6-0.  Watts and White will square off on Friday morning at 8:30 am.
