W&L Men's Tennis Drops a 7-2 Decision to Hopkins
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee men’s tennis team dropped its fourth match in the last five outings, falling to eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at Swarthmore College.
Sophomore Michael Freeman (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) was the lone General to win in singles, defeating Michael Chang, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles, the team of sophomore Jeremy Becht (Woodstock, Ga./Etowah) and first-year Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson) posted a win at No. 3, defeating Warren Elgort and Ryan Rauck, 8-5.
The loss dropped W&L to 8-6 overall, while Johns Hopkins improved to 6-2 overall.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday as it takes on Swarthmore at 11:00 am.
