W&L Men's Swimming Ranked 14th in CSCAA National Poll

LEXINGTON, Va. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently released its first dual meet Top 20 for the 2012-13 season and the Washington and Lee men's swimming team is tied for 14th place.

The Generals are currently 5-2 on the season with both losses coming to teams also in the Top 20. They first dropped a 171-109 match to No. 14 DePauw and then fell to No. 8 Carnegie Mellon, 132.50-129.50. W&L has also defeated No. 18 University of Rochester, 173.50-88.50.

On the men's side, Denison leads the Top 20, while Johns Hopkins, Kenyon, Emory, MIT, University of Chicago, Stevens Institute of Technology, CMU, Amherst and The College of New Jersey finish off the Top 10.

The Washington and Lee women's swimming team did not crack the Top 20, but did receive votes while holding a 5-3 overall record. Against other Top 20 teams, the Generals lost to No. 8 Carnegie Mellon, 163-94.

W&L enters the pool on December 1-2 in the Randolph-Macon Invitational for the final meet of the semester.
