W&L Men's Swimming Takes Part in Day 2 of Virginia Tech Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Washington and Lee men's swimming team finished Day 2 of the Virginia Tech Invitational as six individuals competed on Saturday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

Three Generals participated in the 100 free with senior Ryan Hartman (Yorktown, Va./Grafton) finishing in 49.12 seconds for a W&L top-performance. Sophomore Justin Meyers (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) clocked in at 49.69 in the same event, and first year Chase Flint (Suwanee, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian) recorded a time of 50.48.

Hartman and senior Frank Cullo (Sewickley, Pa./Central Catholic) registered times of 2:03.07 and 2:13.38, respectively, in the 200 fly.

In the 200 back, junior Will Ericson (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) finished at 2:06.14, and senior Robert Grattan (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal) timed in at 2:05.09 in the 200 IM.

W&L will next see action at the Bluegrass Mountain Championships to be held in Charlotte, N.C, beginning on February 15 at 6:30 pm.
