W&L Men's Swim Competes at Final Day of NCAA's
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Washington and Lee men's swimming team wrapped up action at the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday at the University of Tennessee.
Leading the way for the Generals was the 400 free relay of junior Ian Dexter (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook), sophomore Tyler Gehrs (Alexandria, Va./St. Andrew's), junior Brian Stirling (Skillman, N.J./Montgomery) and sophomore Rick Sykes (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley), finishing 19th in a time of 3:06.61.
Individually, junior Chris Washnock (Greer, S.C./Greenville) finished 21st in the 200 back with a time of 1:51.95, while Stirling placed 41st in the 100 free, touching in a time of 47.34. Neither swimmer qualified for the evening finals.
W&L has now concluded its 2010-11 season.
