W&L's Washnock Receives Weekly Honor

LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee sophomore swimmer Chris Washnock (Greer, S.C./Greenville) earned the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the week honors as announced on Wednesday.

Washnock captured two events in a double dual meet hosted by Carnegie Mellon last Saturday. He won the 100 back in a time of 53.62 and touched in first in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.51.

The men’s team defeated University of Rochester, 203-59, but fell to Carnegie Mellon, 153-107, at the meet and are now 5-3 on the season. The team will return to action Dec. 3-5 as it takes part in the University of Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
