W&L Men's Soccer Staff Earns South Atlantic Regional Staff of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced its Regional Staff of the Year winners for Division III on Tuesday, and the Washington and Lee men’s soccer coaching staff was named the South Atlantic Regional Staff of the Year. 

Head Coach Michael Singleton, along with his assistant coaches Jon Freeman, Nemanja Cetic and Austin Gilbert earned the honor for the first time in their careers.

In Singleton’s four seasons, the Blue and White has complied a 57-19-8 overall record and a 41-12-5 ODAC mark. The Generals captured the 2015 ODAC title and Singleton was named the ODAC Coach of the Year that season.

The 2017 squad went 15-5-2 overall and made its third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Generals advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2000, before falling to North Park, 3-0.

The Regional Staff of the Year recipients will be placed on the United Soccer Coaches ballot for National Staff of the Year honors. The National Staff of the Year will be announced on December 19.
