After a scoreless first half, the Generals (6-0-1, 1-0) assumed a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals early in the second stanza. Junior midfielder Viktor Dolberg (Clovis, Calif. / Buchannan) scored the first goal in the 52nd minute when he gathered in a ball in front of the goal and slipped a shot past R-MC junior goalkeeper Brian Breslin.
W&L opened a 2-0 lead nearly 10 minutes later when sophomore defender Oliver Dolberg (Clovis, Calif. / Buchanan) headed in the ball for a goal off of a corner kick from junior forward Dylan Ritch (Mint Hill, N.C. / Independence) at 60:55.
Randolph-Macon (7-1, 0-1) rallied to knot the game in the 81st minute. First-year forward Ruben Niamien made it 2-1 when he headed in a throw in from senior defender Jake Tyler. Not long after, another Yellow Jacket throw in resulted in an own goal, as the Generals tried to clear the ball away. The score knotted the game at 2-2 at the 80:57 mark.
St. Pierre struck quickly with the game-winner; however, taking a thru ball from Knapke and firing a shot past Breslin from just outside the box just 1:16 after R-MC had tied the game. From there, the Generals' defense stiffened, as W&L handed Macon its first setback of the season.
