EMORY, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer team earned its 500th program victory in a 4-1 win over Emory & Henry on Tuesday night at Fred Selfe Stadium.

Senior forward Geinda Smith (Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg) and sophomore midfielder Dylan Ritch (Mint Hill, N.C. / Independence) each scored two goals in the win.

Smith got the Generals (11-3, 5-1) on the board first in the fifth minute after receiving a cross from junior Sterling Kirk (San Francisco, Calif. / Stuart Hall). He then placed the ball into the lower right corner of the net.

Ritch would find the back of the net at the 7:50 mark off of a free kick just outside the box to give W&L a 2-0 lead. Ritch scored his second goal of the game at 16:38, when junior Kevin Molnar (Mendham, N.J. / Delbarton School) crossed a ball from the right side of the field into the box for Ritch to place it just past E&H (8-6-1, 1-4-1) senior Didier Grillet.

Junior forward Jordan Couch gave the Wasps their only goal of the game in the 37th minute on an assist from first-year defender Massimo Tager. The Generals would take a 3-1 lead going into halftime.

Smith scored his second goal and the Generals final goal less than five minutes into the start of the second half at the 49:42 mark. W&L would keep its three-goal lead for the rest of the game.

W&L held a 22-10 advantage in shots and a 7-5 edge in corners. First-year Thomas Zusi (Chester, N.J. / Pingry School) played the full 90 minutes and made five saves. Grillet also played the full 90 minutes and made nine saves for the Wasps.
