WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Berry after first-year goalie Jake Doiron stopped a shot by sophomore midfielder Andrew Kim (Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg) with 14 seconds left in the second overtime period on Friday evening at Cardinal Stadium.
The Generals (1-0-1) controlled play in the field throughout the contest, holding a 28-7 advantage in shots. They also took 10 corner kicks, as opposed to the Vikings' (1-0-1) one.
Kim and junior midfielder David Cohen (Chesterfield, N.J. / Northern Burlington County Regional) led W&L in shots on goal with four apiece.
Sophomore keeper Gillen Beck (Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg) saw all 110 minutes in goal for the Blue and White and posted two saves. Doiron also played the entire contest and recorded 13 saves.
W&L returns to action on Saturday when it takes on Stockton in the Catholic University Tournament. The contest is set to start a 1:00 pm.
