LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer team ends its 2013 campaign in the ODAC Tournament semifinals after suffering a 2-0 loss to top-seeded Randolph on Wednesday night at WildCat Stadium. The Generals finish the year 10-4-5, while the WildCats moved to 17-1-1.
After a scoreless first half, Randolph took the lead when Jacob Lusczek cross found the foot of John Adams who sent the ball into the net at the 69:11 mark. The Generals had a chance to tie the game when senior midfielder Parker Wolfinger (Greer, S.C./Riverside) notched a shot on goal, but the Randolph keeper made the stop.
The WildCats added the insurance goal at the 86:11 mark when Troy Jurney scored off a Corey Sindle and Lusczek double assist.
Junior keeper Albert Civitarese (Bridgeville, Pa./Sewickley Academy) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Generals and made six stops. Carter Smith picked up the win for Randolph, playing the entire game and making three saves.
For the game, the WildCats outshot the Generals 18-10 and held an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
