LYNCHBURG, Va. – Four different players scored for No. 19 Randolph to lead the WildCats past the Washington and Lee men's soccer team, 4-0, on Tuesday night at WildCat Stadium.
John Adams netted the first WildCat goal at the 5:41 mark off a Jacob Lusczek cross that was mishandled by the Generals keeper to give Randolph the early 1-0 lead.
Lusczek struck again with a goal at the 35:17 mark off a Troy Jurney assist to increase the lead to 2-0. Randolph got another goal in the 45th minute by Kyle Unruh of another Jurney assist to head into halftime up 3-0.
Celestin Kabamba gave the WildCats the final 4-0 score with a goal in the 72nd minute off a Nick Cornell assist.
With the loss, the Generals fell to 9-2-5 overall and 7-2-2 in the ODAC, while Randolph improved to 15-1-1 on the season and 10-1 in conference action.
In net for the Blue and White was junior Albert Civitarese (Bridgewater, Pa./Sewickley Academy), who recorded three saves and four goals-against in 90:00. Carter Smith spent the entire game in goal for the WildCats, stopping two shots and claiming the shutout.
The Generals return to action for the ODAC Tournament, which begins on Saturday. The Generals will host a yet to be determined opponent at a time that is to be announced.
