    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its 2013-14 All-Academic Team on Monday and Washington and Lee once again led the league in number of athletes honored.
  • W&L Claims the 2014 ODAC Overall Sports Champion Cup

    For the 12th-consecutive year, Washington and Lee University has claimed the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup, as announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on Tuesday. The Generals claimed both the Women’s Commissioner’s Cup and the Men’s Commissioner’s Cup on their way to the overall title.

    The Washington and Lee Department of Athletics held its annual athletics award ceremony at Lee Chapel on Tuesday evening. The event, made possible by the generosity of the Brookby Family, honors student-athletes and administrators who have made the 2013-14 school year a tremendous success.
  • A Record Number of W&L Students Earn Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that a record 210 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced the appointment of Michael Singleton as head men’s soccer coach and associate professor of physical education. Singleton will begin his appointment on July 1 as the program’s first new head coach in 39 years.

    The Washington and Lee men's and women's soccer teams were both recipients of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, announced on November 21. The honor is given to those squads whose student-athletes average a 3.0 GPA or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.
