W&L Men's Soccer Flies Past Bridgewater, 2-0
LEXINGTON, Va. – Seniors Ben Belair (McLean, Va./Langley) and James Pymm (Smithtown, N.Y./St. Anthony's) tallied goals as the Washington and Lee men's soccer team defeated Bridgewater, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
Belair put the Generals (6-6-2, 4-5 ODAC) on the board early, recording his first goal of the season in the fifth minute of the contest. It would be W&L's only tally in the opening 45 minutes, as it went into the half with a 1-0 lead.
Pymm found the net in the 49th minute for his sixth goal of the season off a helper from first-year midfielder Alex Zelinski (Rochester Hills, Mich./Brother Rice), securing the 2-0 victory for the Generals on senior day at Watt Field.
Senior keeper Will Dorrance (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) played all 90:00 for the Generals, stopping two shots. Bridgewater (2-12-2, 1-6-2 ODAC) netminder Travis Morris also played the duration, recording seven saves.
W&L concludes regular-season play on Wednesday as it travels to Emory & Henry for a 5:00 pm contest.
