W&L Men's Soccer Ties Ferum, 0-0, in 2OT

FERRUM, Va. – The Washington and Lee men’s soccer team battled Ferrum College to a 0-0 double-overtime tie on Sunday afternoon in Ferrum, Va.

Despite hard efforts by both teams, neither squad could find the back of the net in 110 minutes of play. W&L (4-4-4, 2-3-2 ODAC) led Ferrum (2-9-1, 0-2-0 USA South) in both shots, 26-7, and corner kicks 7-3.

Sophomore goalie Alex Lambert (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Charminade) played all 110 minutes in net, recording five saves. Ferrum goalie James Flynn also played the duration, recording five saves.

The Generals return to action Wednesday as they face Eastern Mennonite at Watt Field, with a start time of 4:00 pm.
