The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its 2010 Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Poll on Wednesday afternoon and Washington and Lee was selected third among the conference’s eight lacrosse members.

2010 W&L Men's Lacrosse Season Preview
One of the hardest things in sports is to repeat. The Washington and Lee lacrosse program went five years without an ODAC title before last season’s crescendo to the top of the conference. Despite graduating an outstanding senior class that helped bring the program back to prominence, Head Coach Gene McCabe believes that the Generals are ready to face the challenge of defending their title.

Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 177 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed fall term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

Six Generals Earn Academic All-State Honors
Six Washington and Lee student-athletes have been named to the 2008-09 Virginia Sports Information Director's (VaSID) Academic All-State team. The association recognized 216 student-athletes from the state's 36 institutions of higher learning.

The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID) announced its 2009 College Division All-State Men's Lacrosse Team and Washington and Lee had five players recognized, including senior midfielder Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex), who was named the Player of the Year.

Washington and Lee University swept the Old Dominion Athletic Conference major awards for the 2008-09 school year by claiming the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup and the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson and Majorie Berkley Awards presented to the outstanding male and female scholar-athletes of the year.
