LEXINGTON, Va. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association (USILA) has announced that Washington and Lee junior long-stick midfielder Drew Barnard (Darien, Conn. / Brunswick School) has been named to the Division III Team of the Week for the week ending April 24.
Barnard was named to the 10-person squad after helping lead the Generals to wins over Susquehanna and Lynchburg. For the week, he tallied seven ground balls and six caused turnovers.
In a 10-1 win over Susquehanna on Tuesday, Barnard totaled three ground balls and three caused turnovers. He followed that with four ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 15-13 conference win over the Hornets.
For the season, Barnard is tied for the team lead with 24 caused turnovers and he is third on the team in ground balls (39). He also claims one goal.
As a team, Washington and Lee has won 12 consecutive games and is 12-3 overall on the season. The 13th-ranked Generals return to action on Wednesday with a 4:00 pm game at Guilford College.
