FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee junior attackman A.J. Witherell (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum) has been named the Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 15.

Witherell garnered the award for the second time this season after totaling six goals and one assist in an 18-5 victory over Bridgewater on Saturday.  He also amassed three ground balls and one caused turnover while playing primarily in the first half against the Eagles.

For the season, Witherell leads the conference in scoring with 61 points on 38 goals and 23 assists.  On Saturday, he became the seventh player in program history to surpass 200 career points (204).  His 123 career goals rank fifth all-time, while his 81 assists are the 10th best total in program history.

Washington and Lee (10-3, 6-0 ODAC) has won 10 games in a row and is ranked 13th in the latest USILA Division III poll.  The Generals will look to extend the streak once again with a 4:00 pm contest on Tuesday at Susquehanna University.
