FOREST, Va. – Junior midfielder Luke Heinsohn (Charlottesville, Va./Covenant) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 22.
Heinsohn garnered the award after totaling five goals and two assists while helping lead the Generals to a 2-0 week.
In a 14-4 win over Greensboro College on Wednesday, Heinsohn totaled one goal and one assist.
In a 14-13 overtime victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday, he scored the game-winning goal 1:58 into the overtime session. All told, he scored a career-high four goals and assisted on another against the Yellow Jackets.
For the season, Heinsohn is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 22 points on nine goals and 13 assists.
Washington and Lee (8-8) will open play in the 2012 ODAC Tournament on Wednesday when it travels to Hampden-Sydney (9-6) for a 3:30 pm contest.
